I haven’t graduated but I’m planning to apply for IDFX as soon as possible. Do you offer just IDFX and can I sign up for the class without being approved by CIDQ yet?
Yes! You may take the class at anytime. Be aware of the deadlines for the applications. However, even if you have not been approved, you may take the class(es)
I just graduated. Will I benefit from your class?
Classes are designed for all levels of experience and expertise. From the most basic to the most advanced topics -with detailed explanations, illustrations and dozens of cheat sheets to help you retain the information, regardless of your design specialty.
When do classes start?
Classes for the April exam session begin right after New Year day.
Classes for the October exam session begin the first Monday in July
How long is each study session?
We run a 13 week class. The curriculum covers 12 weeks of instruction plus one additional week for final reviews.
What is included in each course?
Each course covers ALL topics listed in the blueprint as published by CIDQ. Each module includes basic quizzes, advanced exercises, progress tests as well as a mid-term and a Final.
Which Textbook does IDQSimplified uses?
IDQSimplified uses many sources, but we base our curriculum on the Interior Design Reference Manual -7th edition by Ken Ballast. We highly encourage you to use the latest edition
Will each exam class have a weekly meeting?
If you sign up and take all three classes, yes, there are live classes scheduled every week. Some topics are unique to one or two exams. In cases like that, one of the classes will have the week off. There is a live class review calendar published each session to help you plan.
Are all the topics covered during live classes?
Not all. There are only 12 weeks of instruction and a lot more topics. The lessons cover all areas of content, but the live classes cover the main topics.
I don’t know if I can attend the live classes. Are the sessions recorded?
Yes! all sessions are recorded and posted within 24 hours of the class. In addition, there are many pre-recorded topics that can be viewed at any time.
Which platform does the school uses? Do I need to buy any apps or software?
Once you sign up, you have online access to the entire course. We use Teachable and all lessons are preloaded so that you can move at your own pace.
Are OFFICE HOURS open to anyone? I just need a wee-bit of help
Office hours are only for those who have signed up. But check out our RESOURCES page full of free quizzes, youtube videos, 1:1 tutoring link and much more!
Do you offer private tutoring sessions?
Yes, limited private tutoring is available every session. You do not have to be a student to sign up. Additional information and link to the booking calendar is available on the Resources Page.

How does the installment plan work?
The tuition is split in 4 payments -this options closes early. However, the earlier you get started, the more time you have for the same amount
Do you update the curriculum?
Yes! The school goes offline at the end of the exams for about a month. This time is used to update the curriculum, quizzes, and align the content with CIDQ’s guidance when needed
Are there any codes or discounts that I can take advantage of?
- The best option is to join early. The price is the same whether you study for 2 months or 5. The course typically opens a month before the study session begins, and ends at the end of the exams so that’s about 5 months of access to the material and content
- If you are a returning student taking the same course, contact us prior to signing up. There are 10% off codes available. This must be applied prior to payment.
- Lastly, if taking PX and PRAC, it’s less expensive to sign up for the Full curriculum.
Are you able to offer refunds?
All payments are non-refundable. Payments are handled by Teachable and once processed, I cannot offer refunds. However, contact us as we may be able to offer a partial credit for a future study session
