Submit Transcripts
- Regardless of whether you apply for Route 1 or Route 2 of the examination process, you must submit transcripts to CIDQ. Email them to transcripts@cidq.org
- Official transcript must show degree awarded and date conferred.
- Once received and uploaded by CIDQ, you will receive an email notification confirming receipt

Complete Work Verification Section
The following are Minimum hours required from candidates in order to qualify to take the exams. These categories must be verified by the sponsor
- Professional Practice = 200 hours minimum threshold
- Schematic Design = 200 hours minimum threshold
- Contract Administration = 200 hours minimum threshold
- Design Development = 300 hours minimum threshold
- Construction Documents = 400 hours minimum threshold
- Programming/Pre-Design = 200 hours minimum threshold

Pay Application Fee
- Application fees must be paid BEFORE the application is processed and reviewed.
- Application Fees are non-refundable
- Application Fee if taking all three (3) exams is $225.
- Application Fee if taking IDFX only is $95. Then $140 when applying for IDPX and PRAC

What are the deadlines to apply?
Spring Session – Deadline to apply is January 31st
Fall Session – Deadline to apply is July 31st
Are these the same deadlines to schedule the exams?
No. Once approved, you may schedule your exam through
September 30th for the Fall session
March 31st, for the Spring Session
I need testing accommodations. How do I apply?
Testing accommodations are granted for those that fall under ADA or the Canadian equivalent. They must be granted prior to scheduling the exam. There is a form that you must fill out, which can be downloaded here from CIDQ
How long do I have to take the exams once approved?
You have 10 sessions, or 5 years. It is important to start keep this in mind because once your approval period expires, the process must be repeated under any new rules or requirements
What happens if my application is not approved?
Deficient applications are held for three years. After that time, applicants will need to start the application process over from the beginning, including submitting all materials, paying all fees, and meeting current eligibility requirements.
